Final Community Service Self - Reflection

      1)  I will talk about the place I volunteer in and about the organization ,I volunteer at future center in AbuDhabi (Mohammed bin Zaid city ). This organization future center help the disable people and make their life easier  and to develop their confidence by teach them.

    2) The best  part when you see them learn trying hard to achieve something  and when I see that I can help the community and society  with helping them and I was very happy to do that. 

    

    3) When I heard we will volunteer in the future center  I had strange felling I don’t  know  why maybe because it will be my first time I  will work and sit with disable people  and I don’t know how they will react and how the will connect with me . In the first day the teacher asked me to sit with to student have a problems with math so I work with this tow students  Saleh and Haykel  I worked hard with this toe students  and not for one day each time I came to volunteering I sit with this tow student minim tow hours  at the end the teacher  see the student skills work out and that was very good feeling because you know  I did a good  work with him and by helping them I feel I support the community.

  4)   Finally, I learned many things but , the most important thing I have learned that I should be thankful for what  god  give me I should to be happy because I am very fortunate than other people  and that every body needs help  the thing will bring with me I am more confidants and I got good experience's  and I developed my communication skills  and self esteem when I lift future center .       

Interview with Miss Rachel

 1) Why did you chose to be a special need teacher?

I have always wanted a vocational job that helps others to achieve their dreams ,and I have always had a  background  with special needs whilst reading my degree,so I was interested to do such a job.

  2)  Is it hard job?

It can be challenging at times , especially when some children can present some challenging behaviors ,however I find my job the most rewarding and happy job . I am blessed to be able to work with such wonderful students.

 3)  From when you are a special need teacher?

I trained as a speech  language therapist, and have been working as a special educational teacher since 2010.

4.     4)  How long  you are here in Future Center?

I have been  here  for  5 and a half years.

5.    5) How many student graduated from Future Center?

As we have not offered ‘qualifications ‘ in the past, our students do not ‘graduate’ as in other schools. However , when they have learnt all the skills that they are able to/need to many of them have gone off into jobs or back to graded qualifications .last year ,one of my students left to start

 Work in an office ; another has started his GCSE’S and is training to become a diving instructor , and another has gone to a college in the u.k.

As of September some of our students will be following a new curriculum –A.S.D.A.N., which will allow our students to achieve certified qualifications, which we hope  will enable them to gain more skills with the aim  of getting jobs when they leave .it will also allow them to see their own achievements, and have their strengths recognized, just like many of their brothers and sisters do.

6.      6) How can we help the students ?

You ca help our students in many ways. Sometimes its just being able to chat with them and  provide them with valuable social interactions that are not just with their teachers or peers. Sometimes its being able to work one-to-one with s student and giving the extra support whilst they are doing their work.

7.     7)  What the best feeling  you had  as a teacher?

There are 2 things :

1^st- watch two of my students grow into young adults with confidence and independence , and see them leake us to start work or return to  graded education.

2^nd- to watch one of my students be able to tie his shoelaces without help .He had worried so heads  for months and has difficulties with coordination , but with effort he was able to achieve his goals.

volunteer day 5

I went to the Future Center at 8:30Am and that was my last day of volunteering. I show to the student a presentation about my major and I explain to them  such as what is about , what we do and where we can work.

After that we want to the computer class and we do the usually exercises we spent time sawing each student what he have down the results were breathtaking.

The next class was English and I helped some students in reading and writing and we spend the day sharing a jokes and puzzles it was a nice day for me and for the kids we enjoy a lot .

Than I had to go some students were sad  and the say too me we will miss you , and I Sayed I will miss you to and I will never forget you and if I had a chance I will come to see you guys .

So that was my exponent in volunteer in  Future Center and I learn a lot from this , I learn how to be patient and I developed my skills in communication with students also learn to thanks god for our health.

VOLUNTEER DAY4

In day 4 i start the morning by taking the student to the manual lab i sow how the student are trying to learn craftsmanship like  excelsior  or drawing i stay with them to see how they doing it and are they taking safety ,but they are high efficiency in taking precautions and i enjoy seeing them and helping them .

The next class was about how you reed the maps and how i can now my location in the map it was a nice lesson and the kids like it and me by my self i like it and i learned from it .

After that the instructors give me  a work to do with tow of the students to help the in math and we want to computer room the student start working in they proscriptions .

every day i learn some thing from this students some time i can not describe what i learn but in my hard i now that .

VOLUNTEER DAY 3

I start day there with hope i can helped the special needs students to do what they like to do . We start this day with morning exercises after that we want to the class and we start math exercise and i was surprised by some of the students they was relay good and the solve many math exercise .

The  instructor give me a duties to do with the tow  of students they had a weakness in writing and i stay with them and i tray  my best , its not easy and it need long, patience also at the same time you need to show the kid he is not stupid or slow ,and i have  to encouraged him .

After math class we want to computer  class and some of the students start practice typing  and some of them start work on the power point and they are doing will with it .

after all of this the student have a sleep class for 5 minutes and they lessen to the music at the same time on sleep after they finish each student explain what he Imagine of hearing the music on sleep
some students have a interesting story's  .

In every day i volunteer my relationship with the students be come strong and they trust me more and I appreciate their confidence in me and i will not let them down ,

In day tow i was very exciting to start working with the kids, we start our day with a sciences test my dutie was see the kids if the have any question they did not understand or if they have difficult in writeing i was surprised from them because there was a difficult word and difficult question they know it and understand many things i dont know it .

After the test I take the student to the dining room every kids have his breakfast and they was so organize and  polite,after the breakfast i took them to the room game and they play and have some fun times together. In the end of the day the Muslim students want to pray after they finishit was the reading class time each student have his own story and that was the end of the day.

My relationship with the students are evolved and they are more comfortable withe me some of them trying to misunderstand just to ask me and make conversation  and some of them also take my Instagram account  and add me this was one of the things that make me happy .There is some thinking about the instructors they are so serious and strict withe student but i feel that the student are not anger or sad but the feel them self  like the normal students not spacial needs one so they accept that behavior from the instructors .

I feel great for what i did to help this students and i which i gave more and more for them because when you see there smiles you forget every thing thanks god for what he give us .
